In the tradition of Haggard and Jones, self taught, and original. I started playing at the age of 14, and toured a few states back in the late 60's with my own band. Since then I've spent most of the time pursuing a career in television, but not too long ago returned to my love of traditional country music.

It all started in the sleepy town of Buford, GA, back in 1951. It was October, but the warmth of the summer sun was lingering for the birth of Mrs. Jones’ darling baby boy. After the birthing process Mom and Dad took me to our lovely home in Doraville, GA, where I grew up….kinda.

I was highly influenced by great artists like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, Gene Watson, and many more. I picked up the guitar when I was about 14, and with a little help from a few friends learned some basic chords…

Through the years, I did a lot of things, morning drive radio, ran a shoe store, meter reader for the gas company, I even worked as a private detective. Like most country singers, I’ve been lied to, let down, drink too much and, yes, I’ve seen the inside of a jail cell.

In 1989 I met Tom Park in Atlanta. I adapted a TV ad campaign he was doing to fit my “smaller” clients. Since then I have appeared in over 40,000 commercials all over the Southeast. I’ve been very fortunate.

In 2013, I returned to my love of traditional country music, and writing. Having a blast and hope you enjoy some of it.

Thanks for your support,

"Tim Jones was born to sing country! 'Pardon Me' has a real old timey feel. A lesson in leaving stays with you. I find all the tracks on the Balladeer easy listening. You know an album is good when you find yourself humming along and singing the songs in your head even after the album is done. I've been 'Hell yeah''ing all afternoon! The Balladeer really does leave you wanting more!"

What some nice folks have had to say….

"Love the music man. Balladeer indeed. Good, classic, country music."

Joshua Green

"You never disappoint me with your talent. So many people can relate and feel your passion through your music. I’m so delighted to have been introduced to your amazing talent!"

Karen Saavedra

"I Just Wanna Go Home is very moving.
I lived with my mom (a widow of 27 years) for 16 of her last years. The final scenes were the same as in the video although not alzheimer’s. The women of that time frame were women who built the good in our society. I hope the young gals and girls get to hear the little stories of what made these departed ladies so wonderful and glorious."

Glen Osborne

"You sound like George Jones, reincarnate. 🙂 LOVE IT!
you made me cry,….and I thank you. xoxo"

Bobby Today

"Tim, You never cease to amaze me with your heart that is so prominently displayed in your songs, in the melodies, the way you play and write. Each song I listen to makes me feel like I got to visit with you, my friend, and I got to know you a little better. Thank you for sharing pieces of you with all of us. It’s so valued. Your work is wonderful."

Cilla Cantrell

"I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to collaborate on several songs with Tim Jones. He is a talented lyricist and songwriter, and approaches his writing with a rare sincerity and wit. Tim, thank you for letting me be a part of your journey. Looking forward to working with you again in the future."
